two

last friday the 13th our baby boy turned 2!! i can't believe what a big boy he is. he totally understood that his birthday was coming. that whole week we would ask him how old he was turning and he say, "two!" sometimes he would tell us he was turning 8. birthday morning we came into to his room singing happy birthday and gave him his presents. andi and cohen were so excited to do this. andi came into our room at 6 am telling us we needed to go sing to neal! we got him a balance bike and the kids got him the new winnie the pooh movie. i wasn't sure if he would like his bike, but he LOVES it. he totally got it, he still needs a little help, but he can do it.

that night we had a little family party. my dad's birthday is the 14th so we combined them. my theme this year was SIMPLE. i ordered some costco pizzas {that's how lazy i was}, got some pop and that was it! i made a basketball cake {he loves balls} and some cupcakes and we had some ice cream. it was so nice to have a low key birthday party. i planned a game for neal and a game for my dad. i had made up a questionnaire about my dad and had everyone fill it out. who ever got the most answers correct got a prize. neal loves balloons. so i blew up a whole bunch of balloons. inside some balloons were pieces of paper that had some of neal's favorite activities {singing the sunbeam song, bubbles, dancing, racing........}. the kids took turns popping the balloons and then we would do that activity. neal was so into opening his presents this year. he didn't want anyone helping him and he moved from one gift to the next quickly! it was a fun little party! i think both birthday boys were happy.

I can't believe he's two! What a big boy. He reminds me so much of Milo. What a cutie! And I am loving your hair this last time! Looks darling on you.
Oh, and Alison actually told me about the hike. It's called the children's discovery hike. :)
