neal turns 3

i can't believe neal turned three!  it was so fun to have grandpa and grandma anderson here to celebrate.  birthday morning we sang to our wonderful little boy and gave him his presents.  andi and cohen made neal a candy card it read:

"neal, happy birthday!  we think you are "extra" (gum) cool. we think you are "fun" (fun dip)
to play with.  you are "egg-trodinary" (reeses egg).  you are "nutty" (his favorite bag of nuts).

we got him a scooter, a new outfit and his photo book.  i am trying to do their photo books for the previous year.  all the kids really enjoyed looking at it.  he has really enjoyed his scooter and rides it everywhere!  after presents ryan and his dad took the kids in the defender to get some donuts.  then we got ready for a little family party.  we had family over for a swim (we heated up the pool) and bbq party.  i made it as simple as possible!  it was fun to have everyone over to celebrate our favorite little three year old!

neal is such a funny boy.  he is seriously always making us laugh.  he is my most talkative kid (at least to us).  he is constantly saying funny things:

i wish i could have a coke
i wish i could fly
for life! (he means "for real" but for some reason always says "for life")
jane is so tute (cute)
close your eyes mommy (when he wants to do something he knows he shouldn't)

i need to be better about writing what he says down because i forget!  he has said so many other cute things.

a week after i had jane neal told me he didn't want to wear diapers anymore.  i figured we were home and he was willing so i might as well do it.  he did great!  he had a couple of accidents the first day and one the second and he has been fine since!  i don't even put on a pull up at night.  i have waited until 3 years old with my kids to potty train and it is so much easier.  he got a hulk mask for potty training and loves wearing it!

we just love our neal.  he is such a tender boy and loves his brother and sisters.  he can be very difficult at times, he is my most independent kid.  most the time he has his underwear on backwards and shoes on the wrong feet!  if you try to correct him he will just get mad.  we still love him like crazy!!
