jane turns three

jane turned three on st. patrick's day!!  i love that her birthday is that day because we don't make a big deal about the leprechaun.  my kids know it's fake and so it's fun to make this day all about jane. especially since this girl loves colors!!  so st. patrick's day and rainbows are perfect.  i had a plan to invite my family over and do a whole rainbow theme party with a rainbow banana split bar.  but then ryan told me he was going to be out of town until the day after her birthday :( so we waited until saturday to celebrate it.  so i figured we would just celebrate with our little family.

we always wake the birthday girl (or boy) up in the morning singing and brining in their gifts.  well this cute girl decided to wake up at about 5 in the morning.  andi was cute and got up with her and watched cartoons with her until we were ready to sing.  we usually go their bedroom but for some reason we ended up just doing it in our bedroom.  she was excited to open her gifts.  neal was so cute and earlier that week made her a bead necklace and bracelet and then wrapped it himself.  he was so excited to give it to her and she was really cute about it.  they kids also picked out a bubble machine for her and she was so excited!

because she loves colors so much i had to get her a colorful dress!  she loved it.  we went to dinner that night and then came home and had cake and ice cream.

we just couldn't love this girl anymore.  she is so special to us and i can't stand how cute she is. autism is hard and there are times when i just want to yell out how much i hate it.  but i just look at this special girl and couldn't be more happy that she is in our family.  she has blessed our family in so many ways and we have learned and grown so much.  she is learning to talk more and more.  i love hearing her little voice.  she loves to swing and be outside.  she would live outside if i let her.  the second she wakes up she points to the door and says, "go play!"  she's obsessed with our dog, that's the only reason i keeping the darn thing.  she's obsessed with cookie monster.  she holds a pretend cookie in her hand and wants to watch the song cookie monster on you tube.  whenever she doesn't something good she says, "good girla"  it's seriously the cutest thing.
