valentines

growing up, valentines was one of my least favorite holidays. four years in a row i had strep throat during the holiday. it seemed to put a bad taste in my mouth! now, it is one of my favorite holidays honestly, i think every holiday is wonderful with kids. we had so much fun this year. each morning they would find a love note or candy in their felt envelopes. we decorated valentines for cousins with pretty paper, glitter, stickers and doilies. during dinner the night before valentines we went around the table saying what we loved about everyone in our family. i loved hearing their sweet responses. my mom had a valentine dinner on sunday with chocolate fondue for dessert!

valentine morning the doorbell rang. the kids got a special delivery from us. some new place mats and candy. my kids love their shapes, colors and numbers place mats we have had for years. it was time to upgrade. they got a dinosaur, world map and map of the u.s.. they were pretty excited. it's silly, but during dinner they love looking at their mats and learning from them!

andi and cohen wanted to do the same valentines that they did last year. so co-man passed out batman ones (i found online and printed) with some candy. andi wanted the mustache and lip lollipops we found here. she wanted to give the mustache lollipops to the girls and the lips to the boys! neal's valentine is below. my friend gave me the idea. he did the perfect pose! ryan and i can't get over how darn cute he is.

saturday night ryan took me out to jeleo. it was so dang good. he surprised me with the new iphone and a shirt. i love when he shops for me! it was a wonderful valentines

you are the best mom. I am not a fan of Vday, but I think I'll enjoy it with my kids too as they get older.
