bologna

i am finally getting around to blogging about our trip to italy. i won't be able to give it justice. everywhere we went in italy just kept getting more beautiful. we did not expect to be blown away by it's beauty. everyone should take a trip to italy! everywhere we turned was a picturesque shot. i loved the vibrant colors of all the buildings, the cobblestone streets, the laundry drying outside, the people, the food, and the beautiful tuscany countryside.
we started out in bologna. ryan's brother and sister in law were living there and were kind enough to let us stay at their place for a couple of nights and show us around! bologna was one of our favorite cities. it's not a touristy city, which was really nice. you could walk down beautiful porticos, stroll through the piazzas italian style, or {my favorite} ride a bike through the charming streets.
we left las vegas thursday morning and arrived in bologna friday morning. i read a book the entire flight so i didn't sleep at all! not a good idea {so please don't look too closely at the pictures, i was very tired}. as soon as we got there michael and paige showed us around. we then went back for a quick nap. after our nap we went and ate at probably one of the best restaurants in italy. they just kept bringing out dish after dish. it was so good! saturday we took a trip to lucca and pisa, which i will do a separate post on. sunday we rode bikes to church and then biked {actually walked our bikes up} through the 664 porticos to a church. it was very tiring, but the church and the view were amazing. that night ryan and i left for venice!
italian fact:
everyone in italy dresses up. i love their style. even the old ladies ride around on their bikes in skirts and high heels!
