when we were planning our trip to india we planned on being there for the biggest night of diwali. we have some friends in india that we were lucky enough to celebrate with. our original plan was to get in to india early sunday morning, go to the hotel and rest. then go to the market with our friends and celebrate the day with them. because of the shooting in LA we didn't get to india until 9 pm sunday night!! it still ended up being one of my favorite nights in india.
to be able to experience the biggest holiday in india with native's was unreal. when we flew in to india we could see fireworks going off everywhere! they let off the biggest fireworks i have ever seen. kids are setting them off in the middles of the street. it was so wild! our friends made us a traditional indian dinner that was absolutely amazing. we also got to participate in prayer with them. most families there have a Temple in their room to worship everyday. we had to take off our shoes and everything. i can't say how amazing this experience was.
