while we were in utah ryan and i left the kids for several days and headed to montreal, canada! ryan was attending a conference and i love to tag along. ryan's mom was wonderful to watch the kids. nate and tara also came and we had a blast. i liked montreal a lot more than i thought i would. it reminded me of new york but less crowded and way cleaner. the food was amazing and the town was charming.
this is a japanese restaurant that we ate at that is seriously the best i've had! there was a line out the door. i think we ordered like 9 dishes (which is not surprising, nate and ryan are known for over ordering). but we ate everything. nate even ate the fish head!
walking around, which tara and i did during the day. we would just walk everywhere and pop into little cafes and shops and just enjoyed talking.
tara and i went to this famous bagel shop. the bagel was hot out of the oven and i ate it just like a donut! i did't need cream cheese it was dang good on its own
one night we ate at a place called joe beef. we ate everything but beef. we had oysters, cow tongue (which was actually good), rabbit and horse. i actually couldn't finish chewing the horse. it just felt wrong. but the atmosphere was so the rest of the food was really good.
ryan and i had an afternoon to walk around and get ice cream. they had a salted butter ice cream. yes, please.
one night the conference had a cover band come play and it was the funnest night! we stayed the entire time and just dance. it was a blast!
our last night ryan and i biked up this mountain to see this amazing view. worth the uphill bike ride!
