back to school

so far, this school year has been a good one.  andi started 4th grade and was beyond excited to be in the same class as her cousin and about 4 other friends who cheer with her.  she comes home everyday telling me funny things that her teacher does and says.  i'm so glad she loves it.  cohen started 2nd grade and really likes his teacher.  she also plays tennis and is a really good teacher.  he only has one friend in his class, but this kid is so social he easily has made more friends.  neal started kindergarten.  what?!!!  this is crazy to me.  he has the new teacher this year and she is wonderful.  super organized and tough but loving at the same time.  there are about 15 kids in his class and no joke, 10 of them are from our stake.  pretty cool.  i just did half day with him and i'm so glad i did.  i'm not ready and he definitely was not ready for full day.  they ride the bus and neal thinks it's pretty cool.

the girls are my early risers and are usually up by 6 am.  they lounge in my bed while i read scriptures or try and sleep some more.  around 7 we make our way into the kitchen to get breakfast started.  i am a huge breakfast fan.  it's my favorite meal of the day.  so i switch off making french toast with homemade syrup. homemade pancakes or waffles, egg burritos and sausage (or bacon) and egg sandwiches.  730 i usually have to start waking the boys up.  we are done eating around 8 and go upstairs for morning routine (getting dressed, making beds, brush teeth and hair and say prayers).  830 we are down for family prayer and then off to the bus.

while the kids are at school jane has therapy.  mondays she has it from 9-11, tuesdays 4-6 (the only one in the afternoon) and then wednesday-friday 8-10.  i actually get a lot done while she is in therapy.  the girls that come wednesday-friday are super nice and don't care if i leave.  so i usually try and get my grocery shopping done or try and go in to the school to volunteer.  before neal gets home i try and go to the gym at least twice a week.  when neal gets home we have lunch and then he gets to play.  around 2 we sit down and do his homework!  he is kind of difficult to do homework with.  one frustrating day i was putting my head down and he asked if i was praying.  i said, yes, i'm praying i don't lose my patience with you.  later on he starting chanting, don't lose your patience, don't try and spank me!  oh, he is trouble!!

after school is when the craziness starts.  monday we don't have anything so we try and get a good head start on homework/projects for the week.  tuesdays after school we have to get homework done right away cause cohen has scouts at 530 and neal has tennis at 530.  ryan got called to be cohen's scout leader (technically cohen doesn't start until december, but they said he could).  ryan and cohen take off for scouts and then they go play tennis after, cohen loves to play tennis with ryan.  a friend takes neal to tennis and then i bring them home.  wednesdays andi has cheer practice.  so she needs to get her homework done before i take all the girls to practice.  then another friend brings them home.  thursday cohen has his private tennis lesson after school and we all go play at the park.  friday andi has cheer practice again.  another friend takes them and then the three of us rotate bringing home.  saturdays ryan takes both boys to tennis in the morning.

we are adjusting to new things, but it's been good so far!!
