Christmas Eve is my favorite. there is so much excitement i can barely stand it. i get just as excited as the kids. my whole family went to breakfast Christmas Eve morning. everyone on my side was in town for Christmas break and it was so much fun. it is a little crazy because there are a lot of us, but it is so fun to be together. we just kind of hung out the rest of the day and got ready for dinner. we always have Christmas Eve dinner at my parents' house. this year my parents had invited several singles from their ward that had no place to go. we also had my brother's nanny and her mom and brother who were visiting from columbia. so there were a ton of people over but it was such a great feeling in the house. i love that my kids get to see my parents and how generous they always are. they are always inviting people of over and we have taken a kid on a family vacation before that doesn't have a good family situation. my parent's home is always open, i hope my kids remember that. after dinner we do our nativity program. we have been doing this since i was a little girl. we read the story from the scriptures but it also has some narration and lots of songs to sing (i love singing the Christmas hymns). after the program my parents pass out all the kids stockings with their Christmas pjs in them. we get dressed and then exchange cousin gifts. then head home!!
when we got home just our little family sat by our tree and ryan read from luke. it was such a sweet simple spirit at that moment. i love these moments with our little ones. then i read them twas the night before christmas and they were off to bed with sugar plums dancing!!
