i have to say this year my Christmas tree was my favorite. we had a fake tree we used to put in our family room because that is where the fireplace was. but this summer we knocked out our fireplace and put it in the living room. i absolutely love it there and this year ryan said we needed a new tree by the fireplace. i was so excited because i really wanted a real tree and new style. we found the cutest tree lot downtown and i was really wanting a charlie brown noble fir. they are my favorite and they had the perfect one for us! i love the simplicity of it and i'm not one to cover my tree in tons of ornaments and ribbons and whatever, it looked so good with some ornaments and a few garlands. i just loved the fresh simpleness of it. i also got fresh garlands for my fireplace and fresh wreaths for my doors. i LOVED it so much and can't wait to do it every year.
the one bummer is that we didn't have our logs :( we had ordered the wrong ones and they didn't come in until after Christmas. but we finally got them in and have the fireplace on all the time. it is so cozy!!
this year andi asked for the new american girl doll and some calico critter stuff (i love that she still plays with these and even jane has started to play a little bit). santa brought her those and a friendship bracelet kit. ryan and i got her a new piece for her Christmas village. then she got a the american girl beauty center from my parents and more calico critter stuff from ryan's parents. she also got a huge art jar and kids cookbook (she is constantly wanting to cook) from ryan's grandma. she was a happy camper that morning

cohen was super easy. all he asked for was a byu backpack, byu football and a nike shirt. santa brought him his backpack and the new disney infinity pack for the xbox and a hockey set. ryan and i got him a nike jacket. my parents got him some rollerblades (my kids literally are on their blades/skates ALL THE TIME). ryan's parents got him a byu football and nike shirt. from ryan's grandma he got the game sorry and a scripture case.

from santa neal got a bow and arrow set (he had been asking for one forever), a polaroid camera - he loves to take pictures and was taking the cutest pictures all morning, and a magic trick set. my parents also got him rollerblades (he to loves them), ryan's parents got him a byu basketball and a balloon animal making kit, and then ryan's grandma got him a basketball hoop for his door. he has really gotten into basketball lately. he is constantly dribbling the ball and last week he started on a basketball team so it will be fun to see if he really likes it.
janes presents look so dinky compared to everyone else. i feel bad because i am constantly buying toys and tools for therapy i just didn't think she needed a ton. she just started with a new amazing speech therapist but all the tools i had to buy was $400!! so i just put my parents and ryan's grandmas Christmas money towards it. santa brought her a balance bike. she is always trying to get on the older kids' bikes, but i'm a little bummed cause she is still just a little too short for it. she also got a little doll with a highchair and food from santa and then also a little backpack with some sticker activity books and paint with water books. ryan and i got her a little ice cream set that she loves and ryans parents got her some magnaformers. she was a little nervous Christmas morning with all the craziness but i think she still enjoyed it.
for our family gift this year i actually got a ping pong table. which the kids really loved, but ryan thought they needed this too. the older three kids had all asked for some sort of ride on toy. andi wanted one of those scooters, cohen wanted an electric razor and neal wanted a power wheel. well, ryan said he wasn't going to buy any of that crap that would break down in a couple of months. so he thought this was a better idea. ryan can actually take them in the dirt roads behind and he wants to plan a trip to the sand dunes and take it. he does this to me all the time and drives me nuts. but the kids were super excited to it's worth it
i also got this book for a family gift. i love it. it goes through people in the book of mormon, gives scriptures and an activity for family home evening. even though we go to the singles ward for FHE we still have our own FHE on sunday nights. for the new year we started something new. each week we set goals and discuss them at our family mtg and the put them up on our chalkboard all week. the we do a lesson from this book and have a treat. it's been great and i'm hoping we stick with it. so far the kids have been good working on their goals. excited for a new and already fast year!!
