i have been dying to go to hawaii with the kids for a long time!! when my good friend tara said she was wanting to go also, we started planning. we went to oahu and stayed on the north shore. we found a beach house right on the beach (big enough for both families). it was absolutely wonderful, our kids play so well together and at night we would put the kids to bed and sit on the deck visiting while listening to the waves. she also has a little baby so we would leave the babies in the house napping and head out to the beach with everyone else! i haven't been to hawaii since i was in high school and ryan hasn't been there since he was 12. it was so beautiful and i couldn't believe how rural the north shore is. it didn't even feel like we were in america. it was such a wonderful vacation.
i am going to split it up it several posts (which may take long to post cause we are leaving again this saturday for utah for two weeks)!
i was a little nervous about the flight, but they did great. jane took naps both ways and did pretty well on such a long flight! the kids were so excited, it was so fun to watch them experience everything. we flew in on a saturday. sunday morning we went to church in laie then walked over to the Temple and walked around the grounds and went to the visitors center. on our way back to the beach house we stopped by ted's bakery and had the best donuts, cinnamon rolls, chocolate croissants and eggs and bacon. seriously the best baked goods ever!!
