Washington D.C.
This past weekend we went to Washington D.C. for Ryan's Moot Court Competition. I didn't think we would have another disaster flying since everything that could go wrong went wrong flying to Santa Monica. But, my alarm didn't go off and we woke up at 7 and our plane was leaving at 8:20. We booked it up to the airport and made it to the ticket counter at 8. They would not let us check in, FAA regulations say you have to be there 30 min. before the flight. It was very frustrating. It actually turned out fine, because we switched our flights and got non-stop flights. So, sometimes being late isn't all that bad.
The weekend was fun. We went to eat with Ryan's cousin Heather who lives in D.C. and is working at John's Hopkins University. We went to a way cool restaurant right in the city called "Central, Michel Richard". We knew this was a good restaurant because we couldn't get a reservation until 9:30 on Friday and Saturday was totally booked. Count on us to be early if it is food, but a flight-- I can't guarantee we will be on time. So, we walked around in the freezing cold and took pictures of the Washington Monument and The White House while we waited. But it was way worth it. The food was delicious, check out the dessert above. We went back to our old stomping ground on Sunday, Eastern Market & Capitol Hill. It was so fun to walk around the open air market finding fun things to buy. Hopefully Ryan will be a Congressman or a Senator someday so we can have a little house on "the hill."
