sunday morning our alarm went off at 4:45 am. we were planning on leaving at 5 to beat the traffic from las vegas to cali. instead we hit the snooze button 3 times. luckily we had packed a lot of the car the night before, but we still had more to pack in the car and the bikes. finally, at 630 we left. about 15 min. into the drive i realized i forgot my bag with all my make-up and hair stuff (ryan was not too happy to turn around, but he did). so, we really didn't get on the road until 730! the traffic wasn't as bad as we thought and we arrived in cali around 12.
we drove straight to old town in san diego to see the mormon battalion. it was really neat. my kids were a little scared going through all the different rooms, but i found it really interesting. at the end they had a little kid area where the kids could pan for gold, build with bricks and pump water.
i love family vacations and so do my kids! they were so excited to enjoy some quality time with their cousins!
