i am always sad when christmas is over. this year we had christmas with my family. we always start christmas eve night with a little caroling ryan's favorite part. we have been caroling for as long as i can remember. after caroling we go back to grandma's house and have a yummy dinner, act out with a little reading from the scriptures and singing the nativity. andi really wanted to be mary and cohen wanted to be joseph. this made me so happy. in years past they didn't even want to participate. then we get in our pjs from grandma and grandpa and exchange presents!
christmas keeps getting better and better each year as the kids get older. i love how excited they get. this year we decided to make it a low key christmas. i have to admit i have been feeling guilty about last christmas. our kids got way too many presents. by the time we gave them gifts and gifts from santa then gifts from ryan's parents, my parents and ryan's grandma, you forget how much they get. it's too much and i don't think they need that much. plus, we would like to start doing just one big family gift and a couple small gifts.
this year we did two gifts from santa and two from us. ryan's parents got them gifts, with great grandma's money i bought them each a tennis racket and with my parent's money i combined it and got a teepee from here and few extra things. it was wonderful not having to set up a lot. we were in bed by 1130. unfortunately, the kids woke up at 6! i was hoping they would sleep in a little but they were too excited.
after opening presents we went to church with my parents and then everyone came to our house for breakfast. later that night we went back to my parents and had dinner then played one of the best games, reverse charades. it was a wonderful christmas!
neal has started making this cheesy face, it is the cutest thing i have ever seen

this was the only batman toy he got, i'm pretty sure he has every batman toy!
